Doris Ann McAsey, 83, of St. Joseph, MO., passed away on October 12, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.
Doris was born on August 9, 1928 to Ray and Gladys (Wells) Seever.
Doris was a graduate of Central High School and a member of the St. Patrick Church Altar Society and was very active in church and school activities.
Doris worked for the St. Joseph School District in the food service department for nine years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who welcomed everyone into her loving home.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bryan Seever and Raymond Seever Jr.; one sister, Betty Hudspeth; daughter, Mary Carol McAsey; and an infant son.
She married Francis P. "Sonny" McAsey on April 7, 1947, in St. Joseph at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Sonny survives of the home.
Additional survivors include her children, Nancy Braman (John), Peggy Boyer (Carol) Tom McAsey and Debby Pioch (Joe) all of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren; Amy, John Matthew, Racheal, Travis, Casey, Andie, Patrick, Shane and Luke; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Bob and Jerri McAsey, Nancy Herbert, Shirley McAsey, Trudy Seever, and Julia and Monte Yager; and her best friends, Roger and Helen Kerns.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct. 15, 2011, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, St. Joseph, MO.
Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
