Aurora, Utah - Darwin Glen Anderson (Pa), age 83, of Aurora, passed away at the Gunnison Valley Hospital, December 30, 2014. He was born June 22, 1931, a son of Samuel Glen and Alta Spencer Anderson on their family farm in Aurora, Utah.

During the Korean Conflict, he served an honorable tour as a US Marine on the USS Kearsarge and other locations throughout Korea.

He married Leona Beth Colby from Vermillion, Utah on April 18, 1949. From that union they were blessed with three children: Danny Glen, Mark Edwin and Debra Pauline. Leona died August 8, 1961.

Following Leona's death, he married Rachel Mendenhall and they were blessed with two sons: Austin Joel and Robert Edward. They were later divorced.

He married Marilyn Laura McKenzie Turley, December 28, 1983 in Aurora. From this union, he gained three step-children whom he loved and adored: Lillian Mae, Michael Raymond and Kathleen. Darwin and Marilyn enjoyed 31 years together.

Darwin graduated from Utah State University in 1963 and began a career working for the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. He retired after 30 years and settled back at his family farm in Aurora, where he became Water Master, a job that he truly enjoyed for over 26 years. Family was his whole focus and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, hunting, history, weather, politics and ammunition reloading.

Darwin is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Aurora; his 8 children: Danny Glen and Pamela Anderson of Kaysville; Mark Edwin and Diane Anderson of Veyo; Debra Anderson of Aurora; Austin Joel and Laura Anderson of North Salt Lake; Robert Edward and Susan Anderson of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Lillian Mae and Kevin Valerio of Caliente, Nevada; Michael Raymond and Shauna Turley of Overton, Nevada; Marnie K. and Tim Fritz of Woodinville, Washington; 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings: Lavona Platis of California; Eugene Anderson of Monroe; Julian and Faye Anderson of Bloomington; Althea and Scott Farhni of Clearfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lillian Anderson; a granddaughter, Shandy Reha Anderson and his first wife, Leona Colby Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Aurora, Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services.

Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and the United States Marine Corp will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.Still Living
