When Adam Manderson was born on August 13, 1841, in Holefield, Roxburghshire, Scotland, his father, John, was 40 and his mother, Isabella, was 35. He had four brothers and three sisters. He died as a child in August 1846 in his hometown, and was buried in Ontario, Canada.
