Obituary for Marion LaFountain

Marion Helen Venier was born in Newport, Michigan on September 9, 1927. She was one of six children born from the late Fred and the late Leona (Burbo) Venier.

Marion married the love of her life Albert LaFountain in 1945 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Newport, and from this union came the birth of four children. For more than forty years, Marion owned and operated the “Grand Dix Produce” on North Dixie Highway in Frenchtown. After closing the produce store, Marion worked as a cashier at Kroger for twenty years, retiring in 2006.

Marion was a member of the Frenchtown Senior Center, and a past member of the Mothers Club at St. Anne’s Church. She enjoyed playing cards, and bingo. Marion enjoyed listening to country music, and loved to travel to hear her favorite groups. One of her popular musical destinations was Branson, Missouri.
