He was born in Texas. His family moved to Washington State in the early 1940s. He graduated from Valley High School in Menlo and Pacific Lutheran University.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and the 30 years he spent in the Air Force took him all over the world including a tour in Vietnam. He flew the KC97, KC135, and the RF4 and achieved the rank of Brigadier General.
Frank retired from the Air Force in 1984 and returned to the Northwest where he made his home on Fox Island. He went to work for Boeing for the next 6 years, 3 of which were in Saudi Arabia.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marlys; two daughters, Sandra Tidwell and Nancy Tidwell; his son and daughter-in-law Doug and Laura Tidwell; and two granddaughters, Samantha and Kathryn.
Services were held at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, with interment following a military ceremony at Tahoma National Cemetery.
Frank was a loving husband, father, and friend and will be truly missed by all.
