Gordie, of McPherson, Ks., started performing at the age of 18 months with the Harrison-Irwin Troupe as a trick cyclist. He served in the U.S. Marines, then worked at Darby Dan Farms in Lexington, Ky., with race horses as a veterinary assistant. He later worked for Pedersons, a mail order catalog company. Gordie was an MP in the Marine Corp sometime between Korea and Viet Nam, and was a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders. Even with failing health, he would check out of the hospital to go on missions for fallen soldiers. Survivors include: mother, Yetta Irwin, McPherson; daughter, Deborah Lee White, Everett, Wash.; and two grandchildren. His wife, Nancy Lou, died in 1998. He was 68.
