John was born in Colorado City, Texas and graduated high school there.
John had worked in the both the trucking and oilfield industry in Ballinger and surrounding areas as well as Odessa, Texas and Woodward, Ok.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Conaway of Ballinger, Daughter, Cassie Conaway of Ballinger and son, John Conaway of Ballinger.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie Conaway of Ballinger and a grandson, John Joseph Englehardt.
He is also survived by a brother Phillip Conaway of Plano, Texas and sister Geraldine Johnson also of Plano.
He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and a host of friends.
