John James "Jim" Ellison, of Brady, TX, passed away at the age of 76 on December 24th, 2014 in San Angelo, TX.

Jim was born on August 31st, 1938 in Brady, TX to William Buck and Wynonna (Wyckoff) Ellison.

On December 4th, 1970 he married his soul mate, Scarlett Annita "Nita" Bennett.

Jim was blessed with 3 boys; Scott, Dean, and Casey.

He was a lifelong resident of McCulloch County and on January 2, 2013 he was elected as a McCulloch County Commissioner. He proudly served his county until his passing. Jim loved to cut a rug anytime the opportunity arose. He and Nita seldom ever sat out a song at any dance that they attended. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt, fish or enjoy a horse race when ever possible. Wednesday nights were usually dedicated to playing poker with his buddies. But more than anything he loved his family and getting to spend time with his three beautiful grand daughters. His smile, humor, and laugh will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; William and Wynonna Ellison; son, Scott Ellison; and brother; Don Ellison.

Reverend Gaylon Morris and Co-Celebrant, Travis Beimer, will officiate the service.
