Born in Anfield Liverpool,at age 12 worked as a Navigator digging the Manchester Ship canal,asked why he did not return to Liverpool he told me that he had dug all the way and was not going to walk back!He served in the Machine Gun Cavalry from 1912 and was involved in all major battles of WW1 and ended up in Egypt in 1918. He was the Husband of Gertrude Farrell
