DEATH TUESDAY OF CLINTON D. MATTHEWS
Clinton D. Matthews, age 67, 700 State Line, Picher, Okla., died at 8:30 a.m. October 15 at the Veterans hospital, Muskogee, Okla. He was a World War I veteran.
Mr. Matthews moved to Picher from Chetopa 22 years ago. He was a former employee of the Eagle-Picher Mining Co. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ in Picher.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Janie O. Matthews, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Herridge, Star, Idaho, and Mrs. Helen Stowe, Chetopa; one brother, Jack
Matthews, Bartlett, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One son, James, was killed in action during World War II.
Funeral services will be held at the Thomas funeral home chapel in Picher at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery south of Chetopa.
