Brick Caldwell, Sr. was born on Jan. 8, 1955 in Salina, Ks. to Billy Dale and Frances (Hickman) Caldwell. Brick’s father was a career military man so the family lived in many different places around the world for several years. Brick was able to spend the last 5 years of his education in McAlester, graduating from McAlester High School in 1973. He married Cynthia Sue Jenkins on Dec. 16, 1977 in Alderson. He began working as a truck driver for a few local transfer and delivery companies then went into ranching full time a number of years ago. He had also done tax preparation and bookkeeping for 25 years. Brick enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing paint and body work on cars and was a huge animal lover. His real love was his involvement with his children and grandchildren. Brick has been a long time supporter of FFA, 4-H, and the Pittsburg County Free Fair. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Frances Caldwell; a sister, Terri Allen; mother-in-law, Paulina Jenkins; Grandparents, Oscar and Frances Hickman,, Claude Caldwell, and Katherine Spessard; and his grandmother-in-law, Martha Antonelli; nephew, Waylon Null; and his best friend, Richard Robertson. Services were held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester. Burial was at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in McAlester.
