Mary Allene Brewer, 80, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006.
Allene Brewer was born in Lamesa, Texas in 1925. Her parents were Sebe J. Flowers and Maggie Lorena Cox Flowers. After completing high school, she met and married John Earl Brewer, her husband of 44 years. She moved with John and his family to their ranch west of Andrews in the fall of 1948

Allene enjoyed helping on the ranch, taking care of her family and making sure John's family was taken care of. After her husband's death in 1988, Allene enjoyed driving the school bus, as her father had done during his lifetime, and later enjoyed
working at the nursing home in Goldthwaite as a cook. She loved getting to meet and know the staff and the residents.

Later in life she moved to May, Texas to be close to her youngest daughter and her family. Allene also liked being in the Eastern Star, where she and John held the highest office in the local chapter.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Patsy Whittington and husband Lynn Whittington of Granbury,Texas Johnnie Sue Lancaster and husband Gary Don Lancaster of May, Texas. She is also survived by 3 granddaughters, Christina Sessums (Steve), Tonya Maultsby (Gary),and Wendy Grove (Jeff), and one grandson, Quentin Whittington (Luz)and 8 great grandchildren. Also, surviving are 3 sisters, Betty Jo Owen(Bobby), Marcea Clive and Doris McAfee (Wesley).
