George T. Evans, 93, Eldon, died Tuesday at Eldon Health Care Center. He was born April 17, 1902, in Bonner Springs, Kan., a son of George P. and Emma J. Price Evans. He was married Aug. 22, 1928, in Eldon, to Thelma E. Rains, who died March 6, 1984.
He moved as a child from Kansas to a farm north of Eldon, where he lived for 90 years. He owned and operated three feed and produce stores for 18 years. He also farmed. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Dorris Sanning, Rocky Mount, and Betty Fisher, Eldon; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Borys Boyuk will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
