Edward was born on December 28, 1931 in Williston, SC., the son of the late Joseph Jefferson Boyd, Sr. and Maedell Givens Boyd. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably discharged September 8, 1954. He is survived by 3 nephews, David Boyd (Bakersfield, CA), Alan Smith (Evans, GA), Richard Boyd (St. Petersburg, FL) and 3 nieces, Gertrude Boyd Walter (Evans, GA), Beverly Boyd Bailey (Wadley, GA), Cynthia Boyd Hall (Evans, GA) and cousins.
A graveside funeral service will be 1:00 PM Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Williston Cemetery.
