Marvin Henry Knehans, the son of Henry and Anna (Schaa) Knehans, was born on February 13, 1929 in Red Cloud, Nebraska. He passed away on December 25, 2014 at the Chatsworth Park Healthcare Center at Chatsworth, California at the age of 85 years, 10 months, 12 days.

Marvin grew up in Guide Rock,graduating from Guide Rock High School. He entered into the United States Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954. On June 12, 1954 he was united in marriage to Marca Lee Kuhn in Superior, Nebraska. They later moved to Belleville, Kansas, Pamona, California, Tijunga and Sylmar, California. Marvin and Marca Lee were blessed with 3 children. They moved to Hardy, Nebraska in 1994 when Marvin retired. He moved to Simi Valley, California to live with his youngest daughter Cathy, husband David and family after his wife Marca Lee passed away.

Marvin was employed as Vice President of Operations for shipping and crating company that he worked for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anna Knehans; wife of 47 years Marca Lee Knehans; brothers Ralph and Duane Knehans, sisters Melva Stanley and Leona Moxham.

He is survived by his children Carolyn Bartlett and husband Glen of Palmdale, California, Gary Knehans of Simi Valley, California and Catherine Silva and husband David also of Simi Valley, California; 8 grandchildren Aaron and Heather Scobie, Elizabeth, Brandon and Thomas Knehans, Noah, Marissa, and Kristina Silva; 2 great grandchildren Austin Scobie and Ashlee Kay Sharp; surviving relative Marla, and other family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Jocelyn Tupper officiating.

Music was “Amazing Grace,” and “The Old Rugged Cross,” with Mary Ray and Janell Hanson as vocalists and Carlita Price as the organist.

Visitation was held on Friday 9:00 AM until service time.

Pallbearers were members of the local American Legion and VFW

Interment was in the Rosemount Presbyterian Cemetery near Lawrence, Nebraska

Memorials may go in care of the family.
