Surrounded by her family and those that meant the world to her, Pauline C. Middleton, 96, of Nichols went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 5th 2017.

Pauline was born on September 22, 1920 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Louis and Katherine (Root) Wisor.

Pauline spent her youth in Clearfield and was a graduate of Clearfield High School. On July 22, 1940 she married Wesley Aaron Middleton and together they celebrated nearly forty seven years of marriage until his passing on October 11, 1987. Pauline was a member of the Nichols American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Nichols United Methodist Church. An avid gardener, Pauline enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, watching the birds, completing crossword puzzles ~ although her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Marlene Humpal; Phyllis Ann Sawyer; Karen Lee Horton; Robert Wesley and Sherry Middleton all of Nichols; Joe and Donna Middleton of Ocala, Florida; Billy Lynn and Mary Ellen Middleton; her special grandchildren: Susan (Tim) Gibbs; Timothy (Terri) Humpal; Marcy (Steve) Hill, Michael Sawyer; Teri Bomboy; Christopher Campfield; Stacy (Stan) Baker; Valerie (Steve) Deming, Jeffery Middleton; Jennifer Middleton; Nicole Morris, Adam Middleton; Ashley Middleton and Ryan Middleton; twenty-three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Wesley and eleven brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday, April 11th from 4 to 6 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of a life well lived for Pauline will follow at 6 pm with Pastor Mary Jean Simonin, officiating. A private family interment will be held in the Nichols Cemetery.
