Ray Clarence Bruggeman, 89, of Hicksville, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Ray was born on May 23, 1926 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Cairns) Bruggeman.
He was a 1944 graduate of Hicksville High School.
On February 24, 1952, Ray was united in marriage to Willagene Yvonne Manon and she preceded him in death on August 27, 1983.
Ray was a retired farmer. He was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hicksville. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Six Corners Cemetery Board for many years. He actively participated in Ohio Farm Bureau, Defiance County Landmark Board and Cross-Country Farm Bureau Council.
Ray is survived by his children, Barbara of Fayette, Ohio, Susan of Atlanta, Georgia, David of Hicksville, Judith (Xerxes) Colah of Clinton, Iowa; and grandchildren, Avan and Cyrus Colah.
Visitation for Ray will be Wednesday from 5-8 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville. Funeral Service will be Thursday at 2:00 at the church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Vicky Coombs will officiate.
