Gertrude Gandal, 89, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Friday, September 15, 2006 at Village Shalom. Graveside services will be 12:00 Noon Sunday, September 17, at Sheffield Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Beth Shalom Synagogue or to Village Shalom. Ms. Gandal was a Secretary-Treasurer and then Vice-President of Mark Twain Marine Industries. She worked in the boat manufacturing industry for over 40 years until her retirement in 1979. Gertrude was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom, an associate member of Beth Israel Abraham & Voliner Synagogue, the Jewish Community Center, and the Menorah Hospital Auxiliary. She was a life long area resident. Ms. Gandal was preceded in death by her brothers: Robert and Edward Gandal; sisters: Ruth Horowitz and Leah Gandal. She is survived by a sister-in-law: Helen Gandal; nieces and their husbands: Nancy and Nathan Reiz, Janice Scharf, Susan and Jack Berkowitz and Diane and Gary Glass; nephew and his wife: Larry and Jan Gandal; great-nephews: Gordon Reiz, Blake Berko- witz, Ethan Scharf and Michael Gandal; great-nieces: Rebecca Glass and Mara Gandal.
