Helen Virginia Jones of Lanham Lane, Fairmont, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday (March 8, 2007) at Wishing Well Health Center at the age of 92.
She was born June 23, 1914, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late John T. and Daisie Sandy Schlager.
Helen worked as a nurse's aide at Fairmont General Hospital for two and a half years, at Orange Julius for two years, and at Stone & Thomas where she retired after 15 years of service in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Rambo" Jones, who died July 12, 1959; two sons, the Rev. Richard D. Jones and Melville R. Jones; a sister, Elladean Thornburg; a half-sister, Goldie Hahaffey; grandsons, Douglas Wayne Jones and Dustin Richard Jones; a granddaughter-in-law, Maggie Jones; and step-mother, Elzada Schlager.
Friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 1-9 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown.
