Celester "Tiny" Theodore Fath, 86, died November 6, 2007 at Glacial Ridge Medical Center in Glenwood.

Celester was born August 2, 1921 to John and Rosina (Krogman) Fath on the family farm near Lismore. He attended grade school and helped his father on the farm. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1944 during World War II and was aboard the USS Saratoga Aircraft Carrier.

While Tiny was in the service he married Mary Appel on March 7, 1945 in Lismore and lived in Bremerton, Washington. Two sons were born to this marriage, Randy and Bill. After the war they moved back to Lismore to farm and run for a few years a café they had purchased. In 1954 Tiny moved his family to the Iona/Slayton area and purchased a farm.

Tiny farmed for 30 years and then retired and built a home on Lake Amelia near Glenwood in 1982. While living by the lake Tiny found it easy to enjoy his favorite pastime of fishing. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. Tiny and Mary moved to Alexandria in 1993 and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. Tiny was a member of the American Legion. He was a caring, honest and dedicated husband, father, and friend. He was proud of his sons and loved his grandchildren dearly. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Fath of Alexandria; sons, Randy (Patricia) Fath of Blomkest, Bill (Trish) Fath of Alexandria; grandchildren, Troy (Julie) Fath of Sartell, Chad Fath (loving friend, Jen Marotzke) of Cincinnati, OH; Nick Fath (Nicole Erickson) of Sartell; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Tyler Fath of Sartell, Sierra and Dylan Fath of Sartell; sisters, Kathleen (Virgil) Dollander of Slayton, Rita (Gerald) McCann of Colorado Springs, CO, Janet (Art) Riensma of Slayton; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tiny was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Fath.

A Funeral Mass was held for Tiny on November 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Reverend Steve Binsfeld officiating. Entombment was at St. Mary's Mausoleum. Casket bearers were Troy Fath, Chad Fath, Nick Fath, Tommy Fath, Ron Riensma and Darwin Riensma. The American Legion Post #87 of Alexandria accorded military honors.
