Mrs. Mary Marjorie Sanders Edwards, 91, of Valley, AL passed away, Sunday 21 Dec 2014 at EAMC in Opelika, AL surrounded by her two daughters after a brief illness.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Ronald Ziglar of Ozark, AL, Reggie (Vonda) Edwards of Greer, SC, Diane Greene and Waldo (Phyllis) Edwards both of Huguley, AL; grandchildren, Bonnie (Ken) Jarrell, Glenn (Michelle) Edwards, Doran Ziglar, Cori (Howard) Robertson, Krista (Jason) Cole and Nathan (Christina) Ziglar; great-grandchildren, Ethan Lenoir, Abby & Riley Edwards, Bryson Ziglar, Gavin & Marylisa Cole, Michael & Benjamin Ziglar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Alice Sanders of Portal, GA and her husband, Rev Clifford Edwards and son-in-law, Bonner Greene of Huguley, AL.
Mrs. Edwards and her family moved to Valley in 1966 and she worked at Playtex in Lafayette, AL until 1979. After that she worked with her husband in their West Point Shoe Shop until they retired in 1997. She was a longtime member of Fairfax First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star where she served in numerous positions with the latest being Worthy Matron. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family.
The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, 23 Dec 2014 at Fairfax First Baptist Church with Rev Steve Garnett, Rev Nathan Ziglar, and Rev Brad Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Huguley.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. (EST) at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. Flowers will be accepted or the family
suggests that memorial contributions be made to Fairfax First Baptist Church.
