Thomas Jenkins Gailey, age 72, of Baldwin, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Stephens County Hospital.
Mr. Gailey was born in Banks County, Georgia on August 5, 1939.
He was preceded in death by his father, Shelton Gailey and a son, Michael Gailey.
Mr. Gailey was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve.
He was a retired poultry farmer and was formerly employed with International Furniture for a numbers of years. Mr. Gailey also manufactured wood furniture and bee supplies. People came from all over the area to purchase his corn and watermelons. He enjoyed auctions, driving antique tractors and a miniature 1932 Model T. Ford Roadster in parades.
Survivors include loving wife of 48 years, Pauline Byrd Gailey, Baldwin, GA; mother, Rubie Wilbanks Gailey, Baldwin, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Laura Gailey, Baldwin, GA; sister Jackie Gailey, Baldwin, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jean Gailey, Baldwin, GA; four grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Gailey, Baldwin, GA; Courtney and Emily Gailey, Canon, GA; mother-in-law, Cleola Crump Byrd Toccoa, GA.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Tim House, Rev. James Morgan, and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Music provided by Russ Brown. Burial will follow in the Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery.
