Charles Leland Grass, 93, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2104 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, December, 26, 2014 at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the service at the Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Charles was born on January 15, 1921 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grass. He was united in marriage to Rosalea Wolverton on December 12, 1942 in Davenport.
He was a WWII Army/Airforce Veteran serving during the European Theatre.
Those left to honor his memory include, wife of 72 years Rosalea, children, Charles "Skip" Grass, Marsha C. (Robert Jr.) Reed, Gail J. (Jerry) Johnson, and Gary L. Grass; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Leone Thorndike and Leota Maxfield; and dog Toby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cynthia Grass, son Kevin Keith Grass, siblings Clayton "Kay" Grass, and Lettie Carroll, and granddaughter Brenda Johnson.
