Mrs. Hackleman, Former Phone Operator, Dies Mrs. Ollie Mae Hackleman, 77, 408 North Walnut in Cambridge City, former telephone operator at Raleigh, died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday in the Jackson Nursing Home. Mrs. Hackleman served as telephone operator at Raleigh for several years before moving in 1933 to Bentonville where she operated a grocery store until 1947. She was born in Owen County, Kentucky, on March 26, 1892, the daughter of Clay and Sarah Jane McPherron Dunavent, and was preceded in death by two husbands, Ray Clifton in 1927 and Fred Hackleman in 1957. Mrs. Hackleman was a member of the Bentonville Christian Church, the Rush County Farm Bureau and the Posey Township (Fayette County) Home Ec- nomics Club. She formerly served as Bentonville correspondent for the Richmond Palladium- Item. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth F. Clifton of Cambridge City and Russell J. Clifton of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Ertel and Mrs. Addie Clifton, both of Rushville, five grandchildren and two great¬ grandchildren. The Rev. Joe Connaroe will conduct services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fisher Mortuary in Cambridge City, where friends may call any time, with burial in Zion Cemetery at Raleigh.
