She was born July 17, 1924, in Allen County, Kansas to Leatha Osborn Hill and Raymond K. Hill. She moved to Marietta in 1944 after her marriage to Marietta native Warren E. Benson. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marietta where she served on the Alter Guild, a member of The Marietta Junior League, The Marietta Junior Woman’s Club, a charter member of The Honeysuckle Garden Club, founded by her mother-in-law Regina Rambo Benson and she was active in the PTA of Marietta City Schools. She retired from Southtrust Bank in 1986. Her husband of 54 years Warren Edgar Benson, Jr., her daughter Leatha Benson Fulmer, and sisters Gladys Hill Kaufman and Leona Hill Hocklander of Kansas preceded Ramona in death.
She is survived by her daughter Janis Benson Norris and son-in-law Steve of Marietta; her brother Kenneth E. Hill of McPherson, KS; her grandchildren Michelle Fulmer Wade, Michael Wade Fulmer, Whitney Norris Durham, John Benson Norris; her nine great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and her beloved friend of 65 years Mary Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Marietta First United Methodist Church’s Good Samaritan Fund of Marietta, 56 Whitlock Avenue SW, Marietta, GA 30064. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
