Johnny Pruneda Alaniz, 52, a resident of Belle Haven, VA, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Onley, VA. A native of Craddockville, VA, he was the son of the late Adelaido Gonzales Alaniz and the late Dominga Pruneda Alaniz. He was a maintenance foreman for the Town of Exmore, attended Craddockville United Methodist Church and was a member of Exmore Loyal Order of Moose #683.

He is survived by a step son, Jeffrey Whitman and his wife, Serina, of Parksley, VA; three brothers, Vale Alaniz and his wife, Lori, of Washington, Gile Alaniz of Washington, Vince Alaniz and his wife, Patty, of Nassawadox, VA; five sisters, Janie Alaniz of New Mexica, Blanca Barraza of New Mexico, Tomacita Alaniz of Florida, Angie Blankenship and her husband, Ricky, of Concord Wharf, VA, Isabel Turner and her husband, Mike, of Onley; and three grandson, Devon Taylor, Mason Whitman and Wyatt Whitman.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wachapreague Cemetery with Reverend Rob Kelly officiating. Family will join friends at Doughty Funeral Home Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Craddockville United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. June Custis, P.O. Box 66, Craddockville, VA 23341 or Hook’n 4 Hope Relay for Life Team, c/o Evelyn Pruitt, P. O. Box 1414, Exmore, VA 23350.
