Mary Muncie Sweeney June 30, 1924 - Dec. 18, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Mary M. (Muncie) Sweeney, 90, of East Marion Street, Mishawaka, passed away, Thursday, December 18th, peacefully at home. She was born in Mishawaka to John and Theresa (Sollosi) Blasko on June 30, 1924. On March 24, 1951, she married Leland L. Sweeney in Roseland, Indiana. He preceded her in death with her parents and two sisters, Helen Mandich and Anna Petsovich. Six brothers also preceded her in death: John Blasko Jr., Mike Blasko, Charlie Blasko, Joe Blasko, Tony Blasko and Frank Blasko. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Thomas) Weber of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Keith Weber, Monica (James) Potter and Jennifer (Freddie) Stockbarger all of Mishawaka; three great grandchildren, Jordan Potter, Alyssa Stockbarger and Samara Stockbarger, all of Mishawaka; one sister, Rose Hall of Mishawaka; and one brother, Andy Blasko of Osceola; along with many nieces and nephews. Muncie was a life long member of St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka, an Auxiliary member of the VFWpost #360, and a member of the DeLoretto Club. She worked at Bendix for 44 years retiring along with her husband in 1987. She loved talking with everyone and enjoyed spending time with friends and especially her family. One of her favorite things to do was getting dressed up, going to a party where she could talk, laugh and dance. She was a generous and loving person, always asking how you were and "what's new", telling you how good you sounded or looked. She so loved her many dogs and to watch all the animals and birds play in her yard. A mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Monica Catholic Church on Monday, December 22nd at 1:30pm. Officiating will be Msgr. Bruce Piechocki. Friends will be received from 3 until 7pm on Sunday at Bubb Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the Mass at St. Monica Catholic Church on Monday. Burial will follow the Mass at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family wishes donations to be made to the Center for Hospice Careor to St. Monica Catholic Church.
