Geneva Stillwell Pollard, 96, of Morganton, NC died Friday, December 19, 2014.

Born in Burke County, NC on August 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Marston Stillwell and Minnie Brittain Stillwell.

Geneva was a long-time member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was a member of the ladies group. She loved to sew and make clothes for her children, and she enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner for her family. Geneva retired from Shadowline; after her retirement she enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Pollard is survived by her children, Mildred P. Earwood, Everette Pollard, Jr. and his wife, Edith, Maxine Patton and her husband, David, and Bruce Pollard and his wife, Kay, all of Morganton; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Lois Holland and her husband, Grover, Jr., and Betty Poteet, all of Morganton.

In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Elster Pollard; a son, Bill Andrew Pollard; four brothers, Bud, Paul, Roy, and Howard Stillwell; and a sister, Lucille Stillwell.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Roger Brackett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
