Ware Shoals – John “Johnny” Robert Dutton, Sr., 89, widower of Dorothy Mae Putnam Dutton, of 13 Walnut Street, died Friday December, 19, 2014 at his home.

Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late William Thomas and Velma Lee Boggs Dutton. He was a member of the Ware Shoals Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was retired from Riegel Textile Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, World War II.

Surviving are two sons, Don Wayne Dutton of Hickory Tavern and John Robert Dutton, Jr. of Ware Shoals, three daughters, Velma Mae Elledge, Mary Jane Southerland, and Sarah Ann Pace, all of Ware Shoals, a sister, Rosie Reese of Belton, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Mac Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 PM Sunday at Parker-White Funeral Home prior to the service. The family is at the home of a daughter, Mary Southerland, 38 N. Greenwood Ave. Ext. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
