NORFOLK, VA ~ Richard Carson "Slim" Vaughn, 83, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2008, in a local hospital.
He was retired from the maintenance department of Norfolk public schools.
Born in the Pilot Mountain area in Stokes County, N.C., he was the son of the late Mary Elva Durham Vaughn and Eddie Vaughn.
He is survived by his four children: Richard G. Vaughn, Cathy L. Nail, Mark D. Vaughn and Dinah Lynn Vaughn; a sister, Nellie V. Allred; eight grandchildren; and his good friend, Margaret N. Cordovana.
Per his request, his body has been donated for the enlightenment of medical science.
He will be remembered at a Mass at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at a later date.
