PARKER, Ariz. — Robert Lee Page Sr., 82, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at his son’s residence in Parker, Arizona. His passing came quickly and peacefully with all his close family by his side.

Bob, as he was known to his many friends and family, was born on Jan. 19,1932, in Walnut to Loraine and Daisy (Hunt) Page.

In 1950, three days shy of his 18th birthday, Bob enlisted in the Navy and served for 3.5 years during the Korean War. Bob was honorably discharged on April 30, 1953, after contracting and surviving tuberculosis.

Upon his return, Bob worked for Hayward Lumber in Yuma and Parker. He also owned and operated a carnival game business on the East Coast. He was responsible for the construction of many homes and businesses in the Parker area. In 1975, Bob went to work for the Katy Railroad and then the Union Pacific Railroad until the mid-1990s and in 2000 he moved to Yuma, Arizona.

Bob was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving as district commander and all state post commander in 1962 and remained very active at the post. He was also a member of the Eagles and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino.
