Albert Josiah was born to James Thomas and Ruth E. Merchant Crandall on Aug 29th, 1858 at Beech Hill, Mayville, NY. He had four brothers and a sister, Nelson, Forest, Eddy, Emery and Nancy, and a half-brother, James. He married Edna Adele Beeman, daughter of John F. and Mary Scott Beeman on July 14th, 1881 in Sherman, NY.
They had two children.
1) Clifford Levi (1884-1974) m. Inez Webber
2) Blanche Edith (1889-1986) m. Orvis Earl Wood
Clifford was born at Beech Hill, but Blanche was born in a log cabin on Morris Rd. Albert built a new home next to the log cabin. It stands up the hill towards Mayville from where the Webber road intersects Morris Rd.
Albert was a well known farmer, a past master of the Chautauqua Grange, and a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
He died at his home in Hartfield on Jan 11th, 1933.
