Funeral service for Frank D. Hanners, 78, will be Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM at New Center Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Bates and Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour before the service at the Church. Visitation will be Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Hanners died on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born September 5, 1936, in Morgan County to Felton Thomas Hanners and Vennie Mae Yeager Hanners. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of New Center Baptist Church. He retired from Sexton Can Company in Decatur, AL. He loved the Atlanta Braves, Alabama Football, and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his former wife, Ruth McCormick Hanners.
