Mrs. J. M. Porter Dies.

Mrs. M. E. Porter, wife of J. M. Porter, died Saturday night at 9:00 o'clock, aged 32 years, 11 months 20 days. The cause of her death was a relapse from typhoid fever with which she suffered for many weeks. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the family residence on North Sixth street and despite the stormy weather many attended. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.

Mary Effie, daughter of Adis and Rhody Veach, was born January 3, 1867, and died December 23, 1899, aged 32 years, 11 months and 20 days. She was married to John M. Porter, September 2, 1882. Four sons and one daughter have been born to them. Two sons and the daughter together with her
husband survive her. She with her husband united with the First Baptist church of Centerville in 1891, since which time she has been a faithful Christian, a kind and good wife and mother, a willing helper in every good work, loved and respected by all who knew her. Rev. G. F. Reinking, of the First Baptist church, conducted the funeral.
