Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM Friday, November 21, 2014 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Leona Johnson, 94 of St. Cloud who passed away Monday at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. The Rev. Tim Gapinski will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Friends and relatives may call from 10-11AM on Friday at the church in St. Cloud. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Leona was born in Pierz to Mathew & Mary (Otremba) Schnurrer. She married Robert "Mainey" Johnson on June 18, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Prior to moving to St. Cloud Leona and Robert lived in Morgan and Sauk Centre. Leona retired from Walgreen's Drug Store. She is a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Waite Park American Legion Post #428 Auxiliary, St. Cloud VFW Post # 428 Auxiliary, 40 and 8 and the Cooties. She volunteered at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Leona loved being around family and friends. She enjoyed going out dancing with Mainey. She was an absolute wonderful cook and baker as well as being a clean and organized homemaker.

Survivors include her husband Robert of St. Cloud; daughter, Janet (Dan Hinrichs) Johnson of Maple Lake; grandson, Scott Johnson, great grandchildren, Christian and Olivia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
