Leona was born in Pierz to Mathew & Mary (Otremba) Schnurrer. She married Robert "Mainey" Johnson on June 18, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Prior to moving to St. Cloud Leona and Robert lived in Morgan and Sauk Centre. Leona retired from Walgreen's Drug Store. She is a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Waite Park American Legion Post #428 Auxiliary, St. Cloud VFW Post # 428 Auxiliary, 40 and 8 and the Cooties. She volunteered at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Leona loved being around family and friends. She enjoyed going out dancing with Mainey. She was an absolute wonderful cook and baker as well as being a clean and organized homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Robert of St. Cloud; daughter, Janet (Dan Hinrichs) Johnson of Maple Lake; grandson, Scott Johnson, great grandchildren, Christian and Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
