Age 76 of Lady Lake, FL, formerly of Warwick, RI - Son of the late James R.I. and Irene (Donahue) Hagerty. Husband of Patricia A. (Swartzbaugh) Hagerty.

Had a private practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Warwick and on the medical staff of Kent Hospital for over 32 years. He graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1948 and Providence College in 1952. He received his M.D. from New York Medical College in 1956. He was on active duty in the U.S. Navy Reserve Medical Corps from 1956 to 1959. His internship was at the United States Naval Hospital in Chelsea, MA. His residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Hagerty served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President of the Kent County Medical Society from 1978-1980. He served on the Kent Hospital Executive Committee from 1983-1986. He was on the Board of Incorporation of Kent Hospital. He is a past president of Friendly Friends of St. Patrick of East Greenwich and a former member of the Potowomut Golf Club and Jacaranda West Golf Club. He was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Lady Lake, FL., and a longtime parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Parish in Warwick, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Warwick Council.

Survived by his wife; two daughters; Elizabeth I. Russell of Portsmouth, and Mary B. Asay of Warwick; six sons, James M. Hagerty of Warwick, Kevin P. Hagerty, DMD, of North Kingstown, Peter R. Hagerty of Alpharetta, GA, Daniel J. Hagerty of South Kingstown, John T. Hagerty and Christopher B. Hagerty both of Warwick. He was the grandfather of 20 grandchildren.
