PFC James W. Agalzoff, 2603 S.E. 87th Avenue, won the bronze star for heroic service in combat. He was killed in action on Luzon earlier this year, received the decoration posthumously for the action in which he lost his life. A member of the 38th division, he served as a guide for native pack trains carrying rations to forward elements of his battalion and was killed by enemy sniper fire after reaching his destination near Wawa dam. His widow, Jean, lives at the above address.
