CHURCH HILL – Freddie D. Alley, 72, passed away at his residence after a courageous battle with neuroendocrine cancer.

Freddie was a licensed Land Surveyor and a local developer for many years. He followed his grandfather and uncles as a surveyor and was in the first group of surveyors licensed in the state. He was a Charter and Fellow member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyors serving in many different capacities. He was a former owner of Hugh E. Alley & Sons and Alley & Associates, Inc. in Kingsport. He served on the Church Hill Planning Commission and was the current chairman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oneal and Maude Grace Alley, sister, Mickey Fraysier, brother in law, Glen Lawson, sister in law, Kate Lawson, and mother in law, Ova Harrison.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Alley, son, Chris Alley and his wife, Patti, daughter, Angela Alley Necessary and her husband, Teddy, brother, Bo Alley and his wife, Carylon, brother in law, J.C. Fraysier and his wife, Norma, grandchildren, Carissa and Kierra Alley, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Bill and Glenda Powers.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at First Baptist Church of Church Hill.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 P.M. Monday at First Baptist Church of Church Hill with Rev. Gary Gerhardt officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Bethel cemetery. Everyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 A.M. to go in procession.

Pallbearers will be Bill Powers, Tim Lingerfelt, Shorty Alley, J.C. Fraysier, Carl Cornett, Omer Byington, Neal Bussell, and Joe Connelley.

​ Honorary pallbearers will be current and former members of the Church Hill Planning Commission.​
