William Albert Archer
Wm. Albert Archer was born in Fairbury, Illinois Nov. 31, 1864 and passed away June 19, 1935 at the age of 70 years 7 months and 28 days. In 1873 he came to Sterling and settled south of town where he lived the most of his life. In 1890 he was married to Mrs. Florence Blakeley who in 1910 passed away.
On Dec. 10, 1925 he was united in holy wedlock to Mrs. Arvilla Gandee. Later Mr. and Mrs. Archer moved to Sterling where they have since lived. After a lingering illness in which everything possible was done to keep him, he was gone leaving to mourn his going his faithful wife and step-children, two of whom were with their mother at Mr. Archers bedside at his death, also many step-grand children and relatives and friends everywhere. He was converted when young and joined the Christian church maintaining his name on its books at the time of his death. He was a kind and loving husband and a friend to all who knew him. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
The remains were laid to rest in the Sterling cemetery.
The funeral services were held at the Methodist church with Rev. Runnels, the pastor officiating, and Rev. C. P. Lang of Otoe, assisting.
The pall bearers were Walter Panko, Earl Wilson, Paul Sugden, John Janssen, O. Kirkendall and Fred Benson.
