Faye E. (Parsons) Barron, 91, from East Longmeadow, went to heaven peacefully on December 12, 2014. She was born in Holyoke, to Omri B. and Sabina (McDowell) Parsons. She grew up in Springfield, spending her childhood in Forest Park and summering at Hammonasset Beach. She graduated from the High School of Commerce in 1940. She worked for Carlisle Hardware, Bonnie Oaks (Fairlee, VT) and Interstate Bus Lines where she met her husband, Joseph T. Barron who passed away in 1998. She retired from Lawyers Title Insurance and later continued her employment with the American Red Cross and the Jewish Nursing home.
She was a member of the East Longmeadow United Methodist Church and for many years, served as the church treasurer. She loved hiking, biking and being outdoors, the Sunday crossword puzzle, and was a member of the Fourth Hill Walkers. Her proudest accomplishment was her six children, James (Celeste) of Athol, John (Maria) of Belchertown, Michael of Holyoke, Elizabeth Hebert (Richard) of Jacksonville, FL, Joel (Kelly) of Wilbraham and Amy Burke (John) of East Longmeadow. She was equally proud of her grandchildren, Melissa, Yasmeen, Sara, Michael II, Joseph, Taylor, Alex and Samantha and her great grandsons, Josh and Jimmy, and treasured her visits with her nephew, William Dominick, of Monson.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother, Omri Parsons, Jr., and Donald B. Parsons, and sister, Shirley Dominick.
Services for Fay will be held, Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of East Longmeadow, 215 Somers Rd.
