Wanda Lee Russ, age 80 of Fort Sumner, NM passed away at her home on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Wanda was born August 24, 1934 in Clovis to the home Thomas Burnett Miller and the former Helen Gretel Davis. She was reared and attended school in Clovis, NM and Port Arthur, TX.

Wanda married William Glenn Russ in Clovis, NM on June 9, 1951. They made their home in Lovington, NM for 12 years, returned to Clovis for a short time before making their home in Fort Sumner in 1965.

Wanda worked for 36 years in the family business Russ and Son Garage in Fort Sumner, and drove a school bus for many years. She retired in 2006.

Wanda was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner, she was also a member of the Women's Bowling League for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Edna Kattinger, and Joy Ready and a brother in law Douglas Ready.

Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she loved spending time with her family especially her grand and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 63 years Glenn Russ of the family home in Fort Sumner, four sons Bobby Russ and wife Joyce of Fort Sumner, Lyle Russ of Fort Sumner, Eldon H. Russ and wife Sophia of Clovis, and Loyd Russ of Fort Sumner. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and three brothers Billie Miller of Port Acres, TX, Glenn Miller of Houston, TX, and Tim Miller of Port Arthur, TX along with other relatives and many friends.

Services for Wanda Russ will be held at 10am Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner, NM. Rev. John Russo and Anna Teeter-Gentile will officiate. Burial will follow at Sudan Cemetery, Sudan, Texas.

Visitation hours will be Monday from 1pm to 6pm at the funeral home.
