Catherine Katie Edith Rinker was born on April 19, 1921, in Anderson, Indiana. She founded "The Topper Barber Shop" in 1956, where she cut hair for over 55 years until the weeks leading up to her death. On April 14, Katie went to be with the Lord as a result of complications from a massive stroke. Katie lived life to the fullest, with a positive "go-getter" attitude and a smile on her face. She was nothing short of simplistic, sweet, sassy, and silly, and made friends everywhere she went. She was kind, generous, fun, and full of life - a beautiful person who will be missed by everyone whose hearts she touched. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Gladys Rinker, adopted sister, Mary Lou Griffey; adopted mother, Edna Griffey; 3 sisters, Hubberta Rhoades, Ida Stewart, Melvina Gentry; and 5 brothers, Fred, Clarence, Daniel, Samuel, and Basil Rinker. She is survived by her sister-in-law Rosemary Griffey; nieces, Penny Ables, and Lisa Haller; nephew, Michael Haller, great nephews, "Lights of her Life" Blake and Cole Haller, countless other nieces/nephews; and many friends. A "Celebration of Life" will be held to honor Katie at Madison Park Church of God in Anderson on April 29 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to "The Miriam Project" in memory of Katie Rinker, P.O. Box #2479 Anderson, IN 46018. From Lisa, Blake, and your little "Coley Bear" on your special day..."Happy Birthday In Heaven Aunt Katie, We Love You!"
