She was class valedictoria at Spencer High School where she played tennis, softball and lettered in volleyball and track. She was a memeber of th National Honor Society, Key Club, Beta Club and Science Honor Society. She was a sophomore at Mercer University majoring in phycial thereapy. She was a member of the Alphi Delta Pi Sorority. She was a Protestant. She is survived by her parents, Luis and Chris S. Cartegena of Midland; grandparents, Edward S. and Shirley S. Saxby of Pinehurst; and paco and Rosa Caregena of Columbus.
