THE PARIS NEWS, 30 Aug 1958: ‘Murrell P. Adams, 629 22nd SE, died Saturday at 6:40 a.m. in a hospital here, where he was taken late Friday after a heart attack. He had been at work as usual during the day at the post office where he was employed as a clerk a number of years. Prior to that time, he had been a member of the news room staff of The Paris News. His wife, the former Miss Cecile Bardwell of Paris, survives, besides his mother, Mrs. Billie Beauchamp Adams, now of Arlington, his father, M.P. Adams, Sr., in Arkansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Burch, Paris, and Mrs. Edward F. Abbott, Arlington. Born at Pine Bluff, Ark., 9 Aug 1913, he came here about 30 years ago with his mother and sisters. He was graduated from Paris High school and attended Paris Junior College. He had been active in Little Theatre work, writing a number of plays produced by Paris amateurs, and was a charter member of the old Camera Club. In later years, he was active in Boy Scout leadership. During World War II, he served in the North African and Italian campaigns, including Salerno, as a staff sergeant in Company B of the 11th Medical Regiment, 36th Division.
