A child of the Great Depression, Inez and her brothers, Alton and Ray followed their parents, Will and Ivy (Bullock) Clinton to various places in East and West Texas, as Will tried his best to eke out a living as a dryland cotton farmer, grocer, and butcher.

The War came along and Alton and Ray joined the Service. Inez met Cornelius (Con) Weddington, a field manager for the WPA. (Con had lost the sight in one eye during an automobile wreck and was ineligible for the military) They married and had one son, Ron (Ronnie) while living in Nacogdoches.

For some reason most of the family moved to Abilene. A few years later, Con and Inez's second child, Cathy, was born.

These were still hardscrabble times. Inez worked as a receptionist for a hotel and then as a secretary for several oil companies. Con was a traveling salesman and then owned a small wholesale food distribution company before suffering two strokes, the latter fatal.

Inez became active in the Rose Park Senior Center, where she taught line dancing. She had many friends there.

She met and married Albert Carlile, with whom she had a great time, traveling, dancing, etc. but he died.

She married again, but at age 93, divorced him.

Unfortunately, she outlived her body and her last years were miserable. Ron and Cathy greatly appreciate the efforts of Mary Elliott to ease her pair.

So, to sum up, she had periods of her life that were fun and rewarding, some not; she was a pretty, even beautiful woman, who enjoyed the many compliments she received; she attended church, but was not obnoxious about religion; she was a lifelong Democrat and was thrilled that Obama was elected and reelected; she was not particularly thrilled with many of the things that Ron and Cathy did, but she stuck by them and, on occasion, was quite pleased.
