Spinal Meningitis.

HICKORY. June 2.—Russe11 Monroe Yount, 42, of Hickory, World war veteran and former clerk of the Catawba county superior court, died last night in Oteen hospital, near Asheville, of spinal meningitis.

The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30 0'clock at St. Timothy Lutheran church, near Conover, where the body will lie in State from 9 to 10:30 o'clock.

Born March 31, 1894 , Mr. Yount was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Davis E. Yount of Hickory, Route 3. He attended Lenoir college, Hickory, and on July 2, 1919, was married to Miss Mary Alice Abernethy, daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Abernethy of Hickory.

Surviving Mr. Yount are his widow and two daughters, Doris Anne and Nancy, all of Hickory; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Yount, Route 3, and the following brothers apd sisters: Mrs. R. A. Rowe, Burlington; Mrs. F. K. Roof, Columbia, S. C.; Mrs. S. J Holloway, Columbia, S. C.; Mrs. Bruce D. Koontz, Tyro; Rev. C. N. Yount, Faith; Worth A. Yount, Granite Falls; Rev. A. K. Yount, Danville, Va; and Rev. Wade D. Yount, Liberty.
