Michael Lemke, of 48 North Street, a retired silver worker of Factory H. International Silver Company, died at his home at 3:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon, following a brief illness of complications. He was born in Prussia, Germany, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lemke, and he came to Meriden with his family in 1882. He was employed as a silver worker by Factory H. International Silver Company for many years and retired in 1931. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Windhorst and Holy Name Societies of that parish. He was well known and highly respected in the community and a host of friends will be saddened by news of his death. Mr. Lemke was married on August 6, 1887 in St. Laurent's Church by the Rev. Alphonse Van Oppen to Miss Anna Lascoske and they celebrated their golden wedding in August 1937.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. John Schill of Syracuse, N.Y.; six sons, William A., Albert J., Joseph A., Richard A., Conrad A., and Edward F. Lemke, all of Meriden; a brother Martin Lemke of Meriden; twenty four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday morning, leaving the funeral home of John J. Smith at 226 West Main Street at 8:30 o'clock, with a solemn high mass of requiem at 9 o'clock in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Boniface Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
