Mr. Charles Max “Charlie” Bennett, Jr. passed from this life on March 7th, 2014, peacefully at his home.

Born April 5th, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mr. Bennett had been a long time resident of Angleton, TX, recently residing in Hitchcock. He was a member of Second Street Baptist Church in Hitchcock. Charlie had been a machinist with McGill Maintenance for 29 years. He loved going to the beach, fishing and was a faithful Steelers and OU fan. He will best be remembered for his love of football.

He is preceded in death by father, Charles Max Bennett, Sr. mother, Joyce Marlene Lanham and brother, Kenneth Eugene Bennett.

Survivors include loving wife, Corliss Lynette Bennett of Hitchcock; daughter, Sara Beth Bennett of Angleton; stepdaughters, Randa Lankford and husband, Carey of Richwood, Sylvia Fisher of Santa Fe; grandsons, Keegan Langford, Casey Lee Creel; sisters, Chris Nichols and husband, Tommy of Ozark, AR, Kim King and husband, Billy of Altus, AR; brothers, Steve Bennett and wife, Kim of Cleveland, TN, Rick Bennett and wife, Sharon of Stillwater, OK, Robbie Bledsoe and wife, Jolene of Butler, PA; numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of close dear friends and in-laws.

Your guests are invited to share in the Celebration of Life Visitation for Mr. Charles Max “Charlie” Bennett, Jr. from 5- 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13th, 2014 at Carnes Funeral Home -Texas City, TX, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Texas 77591. Funeral Services will follow on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Carnes Funeral Home - Texas City with Pastor Bruce Beeler officiating.
