He was born on May 10, 1939 in Blackton, Arkansas to the late George W. and Lilly M. (Enzy) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed music and was a accomplished musician himself. He was a member of the Living Water Church of God in Angola.
He married Mary A. (Tucker) Johnson on May 1, 2014 at Living Water Church of God and she preceded him in death on November 4, 2014.
Surviving is a daughter; Christi Contreras of Andrews, Texas, 5 step-daughters; Debra Fisher of Hudson, Indiana, Tina (Dave) Zaugg of Tippecanoe, Indiana, Rebecca Montgomery and fiancé Joel Tubbs of Hudson, Indiana, Lisa (Claxton) (Edward) Moser of Angola and Tammy (Neil) Rodgers of Angola. 2 Step-Sons; Gerald (Marilyn Kaye) Fisher of Gas City, Indiana and John T. (Cheri) Williams of Fremont. One brother; Lesley Johnson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother David Johnson and two sisters; Marie Whorton and Shirley Garcia and a former wife; Shirley (Davis) Johnson.
Services Tuesday December 16, 2014 at H.E. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West Street Angola at 1 PM with Pastor Wayne Prosser officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Union Cemetery, Merriam, Indiana. Visitation Tuesday December 16, 2014 at the funeral home 11 Am to 1 PM. Memorials are to Parkview Noble Hospice.
