HARTFORD -- Maxine Cook Hilliah, 92, of Hartford, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at South Haven Healthcare Centre.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Hartford Federated Church of which she attended. Pastor Timothy Nyhuis will officiate. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation as to her wishes. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the church.
Mrs. Hilliah was born Sept. 4, 1908, in Lawrence, the daughter of Russell and Maude (Shafer) Cook, both preceded her in passing. She was a member of the Shafer Lake Stitch and Chat Club and also loved to farm and garden.
Survivors include: sister, Esther Mottinger of Boardman, Ohio; brothers -- Martin Stoddard of Decatur and Clinton (Myrtle) Stoddard of Hartford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hilliah on Feb. 28, 1978; sisters -- Ruth Kabine, Ressa Cook, Donna Cook and Milicent Davis; and a brother, Russell Cook Jr.
Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, is in charge of arrangements.
